Hazel Brocklehurst at London Road Gallery

I enjoy working with mixed media. The rescue and recycling of often discarded, everyday things with their unique colour, textures, shapes etc. are not only useful but often a source of ideas. The tactile experience of conjuring with materials is an inexplicable but necessary, natural and therefore valuable part of the process.

My work is mainly abstract, though I enjoy using pastels, along with many other more recent drawing tools; water soluble crayons, metallic pens etc. for more representational work. The computer (full of surprises) has been particularly useful especially whilst temporarily having to work in a limited space and has been vital in producing these cards.

I have exhibited 2D and 3D work in the region and more widely.
