Jana lives and works as an artist in Sheffield, where she splits her time between her attic studio and the joy of being a new Mum.

Born and educated in Czech republic, Jana studied as an artist at art college and went on to study psychology at University in Czech republic at the time of the Velvet Revolution. In Czech republic she practiced as psychologist, working with children with special needs and their families.

In 1996 Jana moved abroad to use her wide experience and skills in a new environment as well as to challenge herself as a person by gaining new life experiences. Living and working with adults with learning difficulties, she found a home in L'Arche Communities in the UK and Canada. Jana loves participating in art and craft projects with people - encouraging their creativity as well as using her creative skills. She is inspired by the amazing creativity and artistic ways that people with learning disabilities are able to express themselves when given the opportunity.

Jana has exhibited and sold her artwork in Canada.

In 2003 Jana moved to UK where she married Pete. Following birth of their daughter, Daniela, she has found a new source of inspiration in being a mum. Jana has decided to devote herself to her new family and to art.

Jana enjoys the opportunity to create new pieces of art from home studio as well as spending time with her family - daughter Daniela and husband Pete. Pete who is a freelance professional storyteller is great inspiration to Jana and to Daniela. In her art Jana expresses her feelings, thoughts and dreams, transforming her life experiences into a wide variety of colours and shapes. After exploring variety of styles, she has rediscovered abstract art as an opportunity to express herself as an artist in a new and accessible way.
