London Road Gallery is managed by Hallamshire Crafts Co-Operative Ltd, an enthusiastic group of local artists and designer/makers.

We are keen to promote local arts and crafts and sell both our own work and that of other local artists and crafts-people.

The work for sale includes painting, photography, woven, knitted and embroidered textiles, ceramics, wood, glass, metal and mixed media .

We are running a programme of workshops, exhibitions and other events in 2006.

One of the more unusual art works at London Road Gallery can only be seen when the gallery is closed!. The gallery shutters and those of First Step Trust next door have been painted by an internationally known grafiti artist - Kid Acne.

Kid Acne was born in Malawi in 1978. He grew up in the Midlands and has been based in Sheffield for the past eight years. Since graduated from a BA in Fine Art in 2000, he has gone on to design and illustrate everything from record covers and skateboards to bar interiors and ladies knitting patterns.

He has exhibited work in a number of major cities including New York, Paris, London, Melbourne and Helsinki. His unique take on graffiti and illustration often features fantastical characters, wild animals and mythical beasts in a style which he calls 'Blood & Sand'.
